Why we’re creating Amalthia
The idea is simple: make it easier to bring a beautiful table together, and give people more reasons to gather.
Amalthia began with a familiar challenge: wanting to host something special while fitting the preparation around an already full life.
Finding pieces that work together can mean visiting several shops, comparing colours on a screen and wondering whether everything will look right once it is on the table. That process can be enjoyable, but it can also become another reason to put hosting off.
We wanted to explore an easier way.
A considered starting point
Our idea is to create coordinated tablescape collections that help bring a table together. Pieces with a shared visual story, ready to sit alongside the plates, glasses and objects you already love.
There should still be room to make the table your own. The flowers you choose, a favourite serving bowl and the way you arrange everything are part of what gives an evening its character.
Inspired by places and experiences
Amalthia’s creative starting points are places, memories and the feeling of being somewhere. Our first collection, Harbour Sunsets, draws on Sydney, where the brand began.
We are interested in how those influences can become colours and details that feel special at home.
Building the first collection
Amalthia is still taking shape. We are developing prototypes and gathering feedback to understand what works, what needs refining and what would make these pieces useful to the people hosting with them.
This journal is part of that beginning: a place to share ideas you can use now, alongside a closer look at what we are creating.
The ambition is simple. To help you set a table you are happy to welcome people to, and make the invitation feel a little easier to send.
